Environmental Portrait: Boxing

I didn’t know what kind of photo and who I should take. I was helping my classmate with hold the reflector and others that she needed help for taking photos of someone she knows at the gym. After finished that, I came up with an idea on my mind about who should I take a photo.

I texted my cousin to ask him for taking photos of him in boxing for my environment portrait projects. He said yes, and we arranged a date, time and where we should meet in London because he lives in London.

I went to London from Portsmouth to meet my cousin. We arrived in Boxing gym and met his team.

I wanted to take photos of my cousin, and his team do boxing in actions because I didn’t want to direct or make it in portrait. I wanted more actions and more moving. I took photos from a different angle. I had trouble with flashing to figure out the right flash that I wanted like similar to my tutor showed in the class. It was quite hard to use focus on the camera. I should check how much left camera battery before I leave. I have managed to take a lot of photos before the end of the camera battery. I am pleased with the photos I took. I have photos in some colours and some black and white. I wanted to try in black and white, and it turned out more interesting and successful. The black and white seemed to evoke a mood and subtle.

I really appreciate my cousin to allow me to take photos of the boxing he does with his team. I enjoyed watching him and his team.
